Hans Koch - Music composition
Born and resident in Biel-Bienne (CH). Following his degree in the field of classical music he turned his attention to jazz and free improvisation. A member of the trio Holz für Europa. Plays in the Cecil Taylor European Big Band in Berlin. Member of the Koch-Schütz-Studer trio www.koch-schuetz-studer.ch, since 1990. The trio has toured Europe, the U.S. and Canada in recent years and is known internationally for its uncompromising and radical "Hardcore Chambermusic". Koch was deemed best soloist at the Lugano Jazz Festival and received the Culture Award of the City of Bienne, the Canton of Berne Music Award and the Berner Cinema Music Award. Scholarship sabbaticals in New York, London and Cairo. Work commissioned by the Pro Helvetia Foundation in 1998. Plays the score for the film "Höhenfeuer" by Fredi Murer. Music for radio plays for Swiss Radio DRS2 and the Swisscom Pavillon EXPO 02. Concerts in improvisational music with Evan Parker, Fred Frith, Barry Guy and Paul Bley.
Roger Ehret - Discussion chair (in Basle)
Lives and works in Basle. Studied journalism. Works as freelance journalist, moderator and course instructor on a variety of topics. Editor with Swiss Radio DRS from 1989 to 2003 (Editor of Regional Journal Basel), text editor DRS1 Basle). Has worked in collaboration with a diverse range of organisations: Kaserne Basel (DenkBar), Pro Senectute Baselland, the Kleinbasler Elternforum and the History Museum Basle (exhibition "L’histoire c’est moi"). Well known in cultural and political circles in Basle and the surrounding area. Contacts with well-known personalities from a wide variety of fields in the Basle area. Member of the board of Werkraum Warteck pp www.warteckpp.ch. Set up "RedereiEhret" in 2004 for whom he now works.
Agnes Weidkuhn - Collaboration on concept
Born and resident in Basle. Studied fashion design. Designed costumes for theatre (e.g. Od Theater Basel, Schauspielhaus Zürich, Städtische Bühnen Freiburg) and dance (Joachim Schlömer TanzTheater Basel). Has worked on several projects with Philippe Olza (including "Madame Monsieur". She is a founding member of Werkraum Warteck pp. Her current professional interests include culture management: Co-ordinator of Werkraum Warteck pp, works in the editorial section of Swiss radio DRS1, work with Union a cultural centre (concept, organisation of individual programme items, communications, public relations). Works with the "Basler Familienpass" www.familienpass.ch
Zoltán Dani - Collabration on choreography
Born in Orosháza (H), lives in Basle. Studied dance at the state school of dance OSZK in Budapest. Subsequent engagements with the Madách Theatre and the Gyula Berger Modern Dance Company. Degree studies at the Folkwang Hoschschule in Essen. Worked with Joachim Schlömer’s TanzTheater Basel from 1996-01. Choreographic work: "Fishpot" (1992 Rotterdam Festival), "Hang-Elegy" (awarded the jury special prize at the Alternative Dance Festival Budapest 1996) and "Butcher's shop" (1997 Ket Theater Budapest). Solo work with Theater Basel "Ich wollt' ich wär ein Huhn", and "Woyzeck". 2001 "The idiot" at the Stadttheater Giessen. Founding member of Verein Kultur in Bewegung in Basle with Norbert Steinwarz, Martin Müller and Philippe Olza. "Wunderland" is his second project with Compagnie Treff www.compagnie-treff.ch following "Schweiss".
Robert Suermondt - Space / Visual concept
Born in Geneva. Lives in Brussels. Following his studies at the Ecole supérieure d’arts visuels in Geneva he worked in the Chérif and Silvie Defraoui/ Atelier médias-mixtes from 1983-88. He has participated in several exhibitions (Kunsthalle Berne, "Von Bildern", "6 Artistes suisses", Calcutta and New Delhi). He subsequently completed postgraduate studies at the Rijksakademie van beeldende Kunsten in Amsterdam. He was a prize-winner of the Concours fédéral des beaux arts in 1994, 1995 and 1996, of the Koninklijke Subsidie (NL) and again at the Bonn Film Festival and at L'Imaggina leggera in Palermo. He lectures at the Piet Zwart Institut à Rotterdam in addition to his work as an artist (film, picture, installations). The Pro Helvetia Foundation featured his work as part of their series Collection Cahiers d’artistes. Jordy Haderek - Coaching
Born in Stuttgart (D). Lives in Basle. Sudied at the Scuola Teatro Dimitri-Verscio and at the Theater Basel. Different theatre stagings in German language since 1987. Co-director of the KLARA Ensemble in Basle from 1991-98. Numerous collaborations with different Theatre Festivals and the Theater Festival Basel. Member of several jurys and commissions (attribution of subsidies - Theatre) since 2000. Production co-ordinator for "Heimatfabrik", EXPO.02 in Morat from 2001-02. Research works with texts, casting and artistic consulting in the fields of cinema and theatre.
Jean-Christophe Simon - Objects
Born in Nîmes. Lives in St. Louis, France and currently works with the Cathy Sharp Dance Ensemble in Basle. As a child he already displayed a passion for the mechanical and for inventions of all kinds. Creativity and craftsmanship were to accompany him throughout his development as a dancer. He has created several remarkable and special objects and stage appliances. He also plays piano, guitar, bass, trumpet, trombone, saxophone, drums, accordion, double bass and castanets... Restores old instruments, in particular, accordeon. He studied dance at the Ecole de l’Opéra de Paris. He has worked with the Théâtre de Nantes, the Théâtre du Capitole in Toulouse, with a number of national theatres in Germany (Nordhausen, Eisenach, Schwerin, Hildesheim) and with the Tanzwerk Nürnberg.
Frank Hinzmann - Lighting design
Born in Hagen (D), he lives since 2003 in Sweden. Member of the collective, Kulturwerkstatt Kaserne in Basel from 1992-99 where he works for Sasha Waltz, ZAP Mama, Luc Bondy, Josef Nadj and Christoph Marthaler. He equally works on a freelance basis on many dance and theatre projects and musical productions in Switzerland and abroad. Lighting design for Philippe Olza's "Madame Monsieur" in 1998 and 2000. Lighting design for the EXPO.02 "Strangers in Paradise". Technical director and lighting designer at the Theatre Festival Basel www.weltinbasel.ch in 2004.
Violetta Erbacher - Administration / Marketing assistent
Born in Arlesheim, lives in Basle. Following her basic commercial training she took further courses in the area of Human Resources, Management, Wine Trade, Marketing, Communications and Strategic Management. Positions held include Human Resources Manager in a transport company, Acting Head of the Communications Department with the FHBB Fachhochschule beider Basel (Polytechnic), consultant with the vista point agency and co-ordinator of the Werkraum Warteck pp www.warteckpp.ch since 2004. She works independently as communications consultant on cultural, political, social and educational issues. Consultant to the FHBB, Dasbreitehotel, the Social Democratic Party (City of Basle), the Volkshochschule beider Basel (adult education centre) and other organisations e.g. Puravida Theatre.
Beatrix Révész - Public relations
Born in Budapest, she spent her childhood years in Berne and now lives in Basle. Studied languages and arts in Madrid, New York and Florence. Set up Galerie 17 at Klosterberg, Basle. Has acted as consultant to various insurance companies, banks and private collectors in the field of interior design and art collection. Public relations for Compagnie Treff at the Roxy theatre, Birsfelden and in 2002 for Philippe Olza’s "Madame Monsieur" in Basle’s cathedral. Set up "Art, Dance and Design" in 2005 for whom she now works.
As an independent arts consultant Peter Keller works primarily in the field of music and the performing arts. In the last nine years he has worked on numerous projects in Switzerland, Austria, Germany, Italy and the Czech Republic. As organiser and coordinator he is responsible for the entire infrastructure, logistics and artistic management for the Menuhin Festival in Gstaad, (40 performances over 7 weeks) and "Les muséiques", the museum music festival in Basle with over 25 performances over seven days. Public lectures in the history of music at the University of St Gallen. In Basle producer on various projects, for Theater Gare du Nord, Bahnhof für neue Musik, among others.
